Kehadiran Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Najib Razak di satu pertemuan bersama warga Malaysia di London semalam disambut dengan laungan slogan BERSIH oleh sebahagian hadirin.

Sorakan slogan itu bermula apabila Najib mula mengambil tempat di atas pentas dan berlarutan ketika beliau memulakan ucapannya.

Lawyer claims he was attacked by cops

A lawyer who served as an observer at the Bersih 3.0 protest yesterday said he was attacked by police officers who continued beating him after he had been detained.

Mohd Haijan Omar, who was observing the protest on behalf of Lawyers for Liberty, was on his way to the parking lot in front of Reggae Mansion Hostel at Jalan Tun HS Lee when he saw several police officers pursuing fleeing protesters at around 7pm.

Ambiga said ‘Bersih 3.0’ necessary if electoral reforms fail

The Bersih 2.0 committee announced this morning that its next rally will be held at 2pm on April 28, at Dataran Merdeka in Kuala Lumpur.

The theme of the rally, dubbed Bersih 3.0, is Duduk Bantah (sit-down protest), joint chairperson A Samad Said told a press conference.

SEOUL: Kerajaan diminta menyediakan pelbagai medium saluran maklumat kepada pelajar Malaysia di luar negara bagi membolehkan mereka mendapatkan maklumat terkini mengenai isu-isu yang berlaku di dalam negara.

Former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad failed to see that the July 9 march was about Malaysians against political thieves.

Asked to comment about Bersih 2.0 prior to the rally, Mahathir said, “I hope that it is not a clash between the Malays and the non-Malays.

“The Malays with the government and the non-Malays with Bersih. And also, it should not be Muslims against non-Muslims. That is the danger in Malaysia. You play that game, you will divide people. You divide people and then there will be no peace in the country.”

This is a subject that Mahathir is an expert in; these are the tactics he used to divide and destroy Malaysia.

However, in Bersih 2.0′s case, Mahathir was wrong. Malaysians were united behind the call for free, fair and clean elections. It was not a fight between Malays and non-Malays.

It had nothing to do with Islam versus Christianity or other faiths. Bersih’s eight-point plan for electoral reform does not distinguish between race, religion or social class.
