New BlackBerry models now available

PRETTY PHONES: Models holding up the Bold 9790 and Curve 9380 at the launch in Kuala Lumpur.

RESEARCH In Motion has ­officially launched its new smartphone ­models at a party held in Kuala Lumpur.

"We are excited to launch these two new BlackBerry 7 smartphones in Malaysia. The BlackBerry Bold 9790 and Curve 9380 offer impressively slim and stylish designs with enhanced communications, multimedia, productivity and social connectivity features," said Nick Horton, vice-president, Indochina, RIM.

A compact high performance model, the Bold 9790 offers both a high resolution (480 x 360-pixels) touchscreen and a tactile keyboard.

The slim design houses a 1GHz processor and includes 8GB of memory with an expandable ­memory card slot that supports up to 32GB of additional storage.

Aimed at heavy social media users, the Curve 9380 boasts a 3.2in (480 X 360-pixels) display and comes with preinstalled social networking apps. It also features a 5-megapixel camera with flash and video recording.

Now available from selected ­carriers and authorised partners, the Bold 9790 will retail at RM1,488 and the Curve 9380 for RM1,166.
