KUALA LUMPUR – The country’s number one singer and also a prominent entrepreneur, Datuk Siti Nurhaliza spared some time and was satisfied watching the lastest movie directed by Ahmad Idham, Hantu Bonceng, at Pavilion GSC cinema, last night.
Siti who is currently popular with her latest English single album, Falling In Love, watched the movie with her husband, Datuk Khalid Muhammad Jiwa around 12.50am with over 150 viewers who filled the cinema.
After watching Hantu Bonceng, Siti was asked to give her opinion on the movie where she said it was an entertaining movie.
“The movie’s storyline is also interesting. Although we watched it late at night, but I still could laugh and like this comedy movie,” she commented.
Hantu Bonceng which is currently receiving good response when its sales collection reached RM1.8 million for two days and was watched by almost 200,000 movie-goers in Malaysia, Brunei and Singapore.
For Ahmad Idham, as the director of Hantu Bonceng said, having Siti Nurhaliza and her husband watch this movie is an honour for him and the movie’s crews.
“It is also proof, the country’s number one singer also supports local movie products in general and especially Hantu Bonceng. At the same time, it proves that local artist, either a singer or an actor, are together in achieving an inspiration to create a community that loves the value of art,” he said.
Apart from that, surveys conducted in several cinemas around Kuala Lumpur, also information from cinema managers nationwide, there were many disappointed movie-goers because tickets for Hantu Bonceng was sold out early since the first day of showing last week.
Hantu Bonceng which features Zizan Razak, Juliana Evans, Jue Aziz, Dottie, Tai and Zahid, is showing in 80 cinemas around Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei, since August 31.
