According to his press secretary Mohd Helmi Khalid, Azizan who suffers from high blood pressure, was admitted to the heart institute on Friday after complaining of chest pains.
“Doctors found one block in his coronary artery and advised him to stay longer at the hospital for treatment and also stabilise his blood pressure.
“His condition is stable but I do not know when he will be allowed to leave the hospital,” Mohd Helmi told Bernama when contacted in Kuala Lumpur on Monday.
He added that doctors had restricted visitation for speedier recovery.
The Sultan and Sultanah of Kedah and Kedah state executive councillors did manage to see him Monday, added Mohd Helmi. – Bernama
