All toll plazas booth staff members "Please Smile"

WHAT does it take for staff members manning the booths at highway toll plazas to smile at motorists after payment is made?


They do not even say thank you when we pay the toll. They rarely smile, either. More often than not, there is no reaction or response when we smile at them.

Even when we say thank you or terima kasih after paying, they just stare blankly and turn away to look at the next car.


I do not think the majority of motorists expect them to greet us with a selamat pagi or good morning, depending on the time.

But a smile is enough to make our day a cheerful one.

A smile indicates that the person is enthusiastic about dealing with the many and unpredictable motorists, day in, day out.

When they smile, they will be greeted with a smile, too. Isn't it nice to bring a smile to people's faces?
