Volkswagen Passengers Cars Malaysia (VPCM), a subsidiary of Volkswagen Group Malaysia, has launched another sedan model in the Malaysian market as part of efforts to provide Malaysians with more choices.
The company launched the Polo Sedan, with the car expected to capture the hearts of many Malaysians that have longed to own an affordable continental car.
“The outstanding active and passive safety, efficient technologies and the high quality of German engineering are groundbreaking for this segment in Malaysia,” said Mr. Ricky Tay, Managing Director Volkswagen Group Malaysia.
“The new Sedan extends Volkswagen’s range of vehicles and builds a bridge from our bestsellers in Malaysia, the Golf and the Polo, to the small family car segment. The Polo Sedan complies with the global quality standards of Volkswagen in every respect, while being very attractive in terms of price,” Mr. Tay added.
The Volkswagen Polo Sedan is equipped with a 1.6-litre 105PS petrol injection 16-Valve Multi Point Injection (MPI) engine. This engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission, which is offered with a Tiptronic option.
Thanks to the engine’s capability of generating 153Nm of torque, this family sedan can accelerate from 0-100kph in 12.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 183kph, giving enough power and torque to tackle hilly areas.
The engine’s fuel efficiency is extraordinary. The Polo Sedan returns a combined fuel consumption of only 6.5 litres/100km.
