Kadir: I am aware of voting buying by BN

PETALING JAYA: Former Umno supreme council member Tan Sri Abdul Kadir Sheikh Fadzir says there is no need for the party’s disciplinary committee to investigate comments he made recently over vote-buying.

The deputy president of Angkatan Amanah Merdeka (Amanah) said he would be sending the committee relevant text materials for its perusal at its meeting on Monday.

“There is no need to investigate me because I will be sending them the full and unedited text of the interviews,” he told a press conference yesterday.

The former minister was referring to his remarks quoted in an online portal that he was aware of vote-buying by Barisan Nasional in previous election campaigns, with cash handouts of RM200 to RM1,000.
