Opposition will destroy the country, says Khairy

KUALA LUMPUR: Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin warned the people that the country would be doomed if ever the opposition takes over the running of the country.

He said first to go was democracy and that the opposition was bent on creating chaos by fanning the flames of discontent against the Government.

“They have always instigated the people to ape the street revolutions in the Middle East as they did with the Bersih rally.

“Their goal was never a free and fair electoral system and they kept running down the Barisan Nasional administration by lying to the people that the ruling coalition are electoral fraudsters.

“In actual fact, they are trying to deny the people a voice when they claimed they would take over the country with the infamous Sept 16 declaration.

“There would also be lawlessness since PKR deputy president Azmin Ali had threatened to break the prison walls if Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was found guilty of sodomy,” he said at the Umno Youth assembly this morning.

Khairy said next to be destroyed by the opposition was the country’s people-concerned and friendly system of administration.

He said the opposition had never thought much of the civil service and demanded the size be reduced although civil servants, including members of the security forces and the teaching profession, were important components of the nation’s growth machinery.

He said the opposition, lacking in experience of administering laws, would impose different sets of laws for different states.

Citing hudud, he said thieves would have their hands chopped in Kelantan and they would be jailed in Kuala Lumpur.

“However, we have yet to hear Caliph Lim Guan Eng’s decree on thievery,” he said referring to the Penang Chief Minister who has a knack for interfering in Islamic matters.

Equally in danger of destruction, Khairy said was national dignity and patriotism where the opposition, especially the DAP has frequently insulted the feelings and love of the people for the country when the party announced it would change the national flag.

He said Lim, who is also DAP secretary-general, had sabotaged efforts to bring more economic developments to Johor by lying to Singaporean investors that the state was unsafe.

He said the country’s national and ethnic identities would also cease to exist since the opposition had lied to the people on important events and people, including worshipping communists as national heroes.

“Pas has also abandoned its Islamic struggles while the PKR was playing safe for all races to win votes. The DAP, however, would continue with its racist policy,” he said.

Khairy said on socio-economic programmes, the opposition has no interest to help the people but would continue to lie, including willing to give them anything for free, just to take over the country.

“Their sweet populist promises are a sure recipe for bankruptcy,” he said.
