The programme, organised by a group of non-governmental organisations in Johor Baru, will include cultural performances of various ethnic groups.
Event organising chairman Datuk Ahmad Kemin said the inaugural event is aimed at strengthening the bonds between NGOs and the local community.
"It is part of our social responsibility to get to know the community," said Ahmad.
"Visitors will be feted and get a chance to mingle with NGO members so that they will know more about us and where to reach us if they need our help." he added.
Ahmad added that Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin is expected to launch the event at 7.45pm. Also present will be Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Abdul Ghani Othman. -- By Chuah Bee Kim
