Nurul Izzah’s statement has been manipulated (VIDEO)

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 6 —  Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said today the statement by Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) vice-president Nurul Izzah Anwar on religious freedom has been politicised.

“The statement was not only misinterpreted, but also manipulated,” he told reporters at the Parliament lobby.

“What is the issue? I read her statement, which stated on the constitutional framework (religious freedom).

“This is clear,” he said when asked to comment on the controversy following the statement by Nurul Izzah, who is his daughter and the member of parliament for Lembah Pantai.

Nurul Izzah was quoted by a news portal last week end as commenting on the freedom of religion in the constitution.

Nurul Izzah today issued a statement in the social website “Facebook” that she did not support apostasy and at the press conference in Parliament House, she said she had been advised by her lawyer not to issue any more statement on the matter. — Bernama
