Taman kosas murders : Remand extended to Saturday for eight in chopped corpse case

KUALA LUMPUR: Eight men who were detained in the case of a woman's corpse, which was cut into many pieces in an apartment in Ampang near here on Aug 3, had their remand extended until Saturday.

"The extension is needed to facilitate investigations," Selangor CID chief, SAC Mohd Adnan Abdullah told Bernama when contacted today.

In the incident, police found pieces of human body and organs including intestines in several plastic bags and in the toilet bowl of an apartment unit on the fifth floor of the Astaria Apartment, Taman Kosas, Ampang.

After the preliminary investigation, police confirmed that all the plastic bags contained the cut up body of a foreign woman in her 30s along with the body of a 20-month-old boy.

On Aug 6, eight foreign men, aged between 26 and 38 years, were detained by police in Ampang. Police also found several items including a hammer which was believed to have been used in the murder of the woman and boy.
