Muhyiddin not surprised of attacks on Shahrizat (PHOTO)

KUALA LUMPUR: Umno Deputy President Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said he was not surprised of the opposition's attacks on Wanita Umno chief after she challenged PKR women's wing chief to tell its own president to resign.

Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil threw the challenge after Zuraida Kamaruddin called for her to resign as Wanita Umno chief following the controversy surrounding the National Feedlot Corporationm, where Shahrizat's husband is the executive chairman.

"I don't expect anything less (from the opposition).

"And, I don't expect the opposition to praise us on anything even for the good things we have done," he told reporters after the opening ceremony of the 62nd Umno General Assembly today.

Muhyiddin said it was "normal" for the opposition to go on an attacking mode against Shahrizat.

The Wanita Umno chief grabbed the nation's attention yesterday after issuing such a challenge.

NFC came into the limelight after the Auditor-General's Report 2011 highlighted irregularities in the company.
